One of the most common questions we hear from parents is a simple one: should my child do one-on-one tutoring or join a group? The honest answer is that both work — they just work differently, for different children, at different times. Here is a straight comparison to help you decide, including exactly what each option costs with us.
1. One-on-one tutoring: fully personalized
In a one-on-one session, every minute is about your child. The tutor moves at exactly their pace, spends extra time on the exact topics they find hardest, and adjusts explanations on the spot until something clicks. It is the fastest way to catch up after falling behind, prepare for a specific test, or work through learning challenges. Our one-on-one tutoring is $40 per hour, and our one-on-one monthly package — eight sessions, twice a week — is $300 per month, which saves you $20 compared to paying weekly.
2. Group tutoring: small, social, and motivating
Our groups are deliberately tiny — a maximum of four students — so every child still gets real attention from the teacher. What groups add is energy: children hear other students ask questions they had not thought of, explain ideas to each other (which deepens their own understanding), and often try harder alongside peers. Many students who find one-on-one intense actually thrive in a small group. Group tutoring is $25 per hour per student, and the group monthly package — eight sessions, twice a week — is $180 per month, also saving $20.
